Mentors

Our mentors are some of our most valuable assets. Family of members and alumni of the team generally make up the group, and they're always there to share their expertise in anything. A lot of credit is due to every mentor we have, from our cooks, to our programmers, to our mechanics, and everybody in between... The Shifters wouldn't be here without you!
Jake, Lead Mentor

Jake is the head of the program this year. He applies engineering knowledge to all areas where applicable, and makes sure order is kept.
Mr. Lewis, Robotics Advisor

Mr. Lewis is the vocational team leader of our manufacturing areas and is also our Robotic Advisor. His role is to review all part prints and then he determines where and how the parts will be made. Safety is his main concern in the shop
Mr. Arnold, Pre-Engineering Program Director

The lead engineer in developing the hoist mechanism and general design guidance
Mr. A, Engineering and Drafting Consultant

Mr. A is the guy to talk to if you have questions about how things should work. Always there to help the students out!
Mike, Lead Mechanical Engineer

Mike makes sure everything is going to work smoothly. From overloaded bolts to underloaded bearings, he'll make sure there are no mistakes!
Phil, Electronics

Phil is our electronics mentor, who helps with design and constructions of all of our custom, as well as FRC issued, electronic components.
Frank, Programmer

Frank is a very dedicated mentor for our team. His role is programming, and this year, one of his main focuses is Autonomous mode.
Jessica, Scouting/Awards Mentor

Jessica is the mentor for several sub-teams that, in the grand scheme of things, are all about team image. She advises the students who are working on shirts, the website, scouting, and pins. She makes sure that we're always in compliance with guidelines.
John, Electronics and Programming

John helps us with great ideas as far as electronics goes, and with how to program them after they've been wired up
Richard, Programming

Richard is one of our programming mentors, who regularly assists us with all aspects of programming but especially with functions that require logistics.
Eric, Programmer

Eric assists with working on the programs that are nessecary to run the robot.
