We've gone the extra mile to make sure that we've made the best use of current technology in this site. First and foremost, it's important to be in compliance with web standards and we're in complete compliance with the XHTML 1.0 Strict doctype. This means that the site is more likely to work in multiple web browsers, but we've also fine tuned the HTML on the site to work everywhere. Behind this is a powerful, custom, PHP backend which acts as a complete team managment system. It's capable of taking attendance, sending out emergency text message alerts, and takes care of most administrative functions of the site. We do plan on releasing this backend code. All code is modularized and has different classes for each group of pages, and this keeps our site processing fast - normally in under a tenth of a second.
We keep our website loading fast by repeating small images, and we keep our small images at a good quality by using the PNG format. For the msot part, we minimize Javascript and replace it with as much CSS as possible. This is more efficient and more cross-browser friendly.
